I created this for the ‘growth & decay’ issue of Domestic Etch Magazine. To address the theme, I wanted to take a well-known image or person and ‘zombiefy’ them. I ended up basing the illustration around a photo of the 1960′s girl group The Ronettes. I was debating whether to make the image yuckier by adding decaying skin and worms, but decided not to. The Frankettes may be an electric psychobilly punk group, but they are still classy!

Frankettes by ~theyellowcoyote. I'm loving the retro-zombie look going on here! I wonder what the titles of their songs would be... (

I hate to be "that guy" but they make me think of Amy Winehouse.

Well, the pic is based on The Ronettes so its includes that 1960s style, including beehives, stripes, etc. Amy took a lot of inspiration from that period, you know!
I know, but I hate to be the one to connect the awesome picture to her, seeing as she died a while ago. x.x

I think they would do a cover of "Monster Mash" and "Werewolves of London" as part of their gig. They might even put in a good "Everyday is Halloween" just for fun, and perhaps even cover "Pet Sematary." If they're musically talented and don't feel like singing, of course they'd cover the fantastic and really heavy "Frankenstein" and maybe even "Rat Salad." They might even touch on show tunes, stuff from Rocky Horror Picture Show comes to mind, "Over at the Frankenstein Place" would make a great theme song for them. Just for starters.
